Crypticus: The Rites of Infestation EP

I had heard of this band many times before, but for some reason never thought to check them out. That was very stupid of me. This is the newest release from Crypticus, a heavy as balls and disgustingly brutal death metal band hailing from Denver, Colorado. This Ep is absolutely crushing!! Three originals, and one awesome Runemagick cover! The best part is, you can download it for free! They released it as a free download to celebrate Halloween 2010!

over all, i give this EP a 8/10. My favorite songs are Ceremonial Surgery, and The Hungerer!

Tribulation - "The Horror" review

I was just recently shown this band, and I must say, HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE. Right from the start, (well technically, the second track, the first is just a short intro) this album kicks in with evil riffs GALORE! Think early, Altars of Madness era Morbid Angel and Possessed, except produced really awesome. I full enjoyed this album from start to finish, i suggest this to any metal fiend. I'm not going to post a download link, because you should fucking buy this (http://www.nwnprod.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5671). Every track is worth listening to, but i think my favorite is the last song, entitled "Graveyard Ghouls". Do yourself a favor, sit down and listen to the whole damn thing.
Fucking awesome album. 8/10

Album review! Death's "Individual Thought Patterns"

I've been an avid Death fan easily for 7 years. I first heard this band when i was in my sophomore year of highschool. Ever since I heard the album "Scream Bloody Gore" for the first time, I've been completely obsessed. Everything I had listened to from them was great. The early material more primal and brutal, and eventually progressed into a very melodic, more technical approach. Either way, all the music is great.
Up until this weekend, I had heard every album except one of them. There's no reason why I never listened to it before, I just for some reason never did. Well this weekend, I took a listen to "Individual Thought Patterns" for the first time, and it blew me away. This album contains some of the most creative, and catchy riffs Chuck Schuldiner ever wrote, in my opinion. It's not as heavy, and not as raw as the album "Leprosy" so to say, but it has it's moments where it is indeed pretty crushing. Some songs that contain some of my favorite riffs are "In Human Form", "Mentally Blind", and "Trapped In A Corner". Also, the first song, "Overactive Imagination" is extremely awesome, and way heavy. There isn't really a bad song on here!
Over all rating, 8/10. A thoughtful album!; Aims straight for the head, and destroys the brain >;]
